The International Symposium on Biopolymers (ISBP) is a successful conference series on biopolymers that has been held every two years since the initial meeting in Toronto 1988, followed by 1990 Barcelona, 1992 G?ttingen, 1994 Montreal, 1996 Davos, 1998 Tokyo, 2000 Cambridge, 2002 Münster, 2004 Beijing, 2006 Minneapolis, 2008 Auckland, 2010 Stuttgart, 2012 Cairns, 2014 Santos, 2016 Madrid (Spain). The 16th edition, ISBP 2018, will be held on October 21-24 in Beijing/China, chaired by George Guo-Qiang Chen of Tsinghua University.
ISBP2018 will reflect recent advancements on “Molecular Basis of PHA Metabolism; PHA Metabolic engineering, Systems and Synthetic Biology; PHA Production and Processing; Other Biopolymers Including Bacterial Cellulose, Rubber, Cyanophycin, Protein and Starch as well as Their Derived Materials; Production of Building Blocks for Monomer and Bio-based Polymers (PLA, PBS, PBAT, CO2 Copolymer et al); Sustainable Polymer Industry: Feedstock for Bioprocesses. Up-cycling to Biopolymers. Life Cycle Assessment; Applications of Biopolymers and Bio-Based Polymers”.
We hope that ISBP2018 helps promote further developments on environmentally friendly polymers and their applications.
